Sometimes, when selecting texts, MyNewsletter.rocks inserts the cryptic words MNR_begin_selection or MNR_end_selection into the text instead of selecting a text as desired.

MyNewsletter.rocks should actually generate a SPAN from these two terms, which represents the selected text. However, this cannot work if the text formatting is a complete mess!

Let's take a look at the problem using an example:

Example

We have a text element that looks like this:

There are difficulties when marking the date with the cursor, the date or individual parts of it may not be able to be selected correctly. If we look at the corresponding document outline, the reason for the problems with the text selection becomes immediately clear:

We are dealing with an almost endless number of nested formatting on this small text module!

No wonder there are problems.

The only thing that helps is tidying up

There's only one thing to do: clean up properly! And this is how it works:

Right-click on the text box and then select Delete formatting

The command Delete formatting converts the complete content of a text element into unformatted text (with the function Undo the process can be reset if necessary).

After deleting the formatting, the block looks like this:

The bold font has disappeared and the entire text is displayed slightly smaller (the size is 12px instead of 14px).

Let's adjust the text size first. As the text size should be the same throughout the element, it makes no sense to select the text and assign a new size to the selected text.

Instead, we click on the Textboxto select it (if it is not already selected). We then assign the entire Textbox the Font size 14px to:

In this way, the size of the font for the entire text box clearly defined.

The next step will be the Fat marked area can be restored. To do this, we select the entire text that is to increase in weight, which is now done without any problems:

In the element properties on the right-hand side, click B for Bold or fat on

Result: the block looks exactly the same as before - but it is much easier to edit because it is now properly formatted!
